Youths between the ages of 16 - 20 who register with SPAO will now be offered our unclaimed spots in any of our foundation classes at no cost.

In order to invest in our future community and nurture diverse voices in the broader photographic discussions, we are eliminating some of the barriers that are preventing youth from engaging in photography. 

Recent events have renewed discussions around the financial disparities of marginalized communities, and the importance for marginalized voices to reach a broader audience. SPAO is approaching these issues tenderly through our new Youth Foundation Initiative.

Youth between the ages 16 - 20 who register with SPAO will now be offered our unclaimed spots in any of our Foundation classes at no cost. These classes include Digital Photography I, and Darkroom I. In addition, all students who complete their first Foundation class will now receive a $100 gift certificate to use towards a future class. For those who are under 16, participation will be allowed if accompanied by a parent/guardian who is a paid registrant in the course.
