About
Ella Morton is a visual artist and filmmaker living in Tkarón:to/Toronto. Her expedition-based practice has brought her to residencies and projects across Canada, Scandinavia, Greenland and Antarctica. Working across lens-based media, she uses experimental analogue processes to capture the sublime and fragile qualities of remote landscapes.
The Dissolving Landscape (2016-22) is a series of experimental analogue photographs that examine climate change in the Arctic and Subarctic regions of Canada and Nordic Europe. The darkroom process of mordançage is used to alter the images, speaking to the sublime and fragile qualities of the landscape.

Ella Morton est une artiste visuelle et cinéaste qui vit à Tkarón:to/Toronto. Sa pratique basée sur l’expédition l’a amenée à participer à des résidences et à des projets à travers le Canada, la Scandinavie, le Groenland et l’Antarctique. Travaillant dans la photographie, la vidéographie et autres techniques connexes, elle emploie des procédés analogiques expérimentaux pour saisir le caractère sublime et fragile de paysages éloignés.
« The Dissolving Landscape » (2016-2022) est une série de photographies analogiques expérimentales qui examinent le changement climatique dans les régions arctiques et subarctiques du Canada et de l’Europe nordique. The artworks selected for the SPAO PHOTO WALK launch installation were selected from a nationwide open call and by an assessor jury made up of nationally recognized industry leaders.
