THE WRECKAGE
Anthony Redpath

About

Anthony Redpath is based in Vancouver, B.C. He endeavors to transform ordinary, everyday scenes into heightened depictions of our shared social experiences. Referencing his own life experiences, he explores the human condition through themes of time and nostalgia, loss and despair, loneliness, and interconnectivity.

The Wreckage depicts a staff event in Ucluelet, B.C., circa 1969. Ecotourism was not yet popular, but the area was known to dapper hippies who were not part of the resource-based worker population. This work comments on the transformation of society in this coastal community.
