Diana Thorneycroft is a seasoned Winnipeg artist with a career spanning over three decades. She embraces a diverse artistic practice and her focus on content rather than media fuels an impressive range of creations, encompassing installation, sculpture, drawing, and photography. Notably, in 2019, Thorneycroft ventured into the realm of stop-motion animation and is currently producing her second film.
The full title of Thorneycroft’s diptych is (left) American Bachelorette (at Riverbend Farm) (right) Canadian Bachelorette (at Maligne Lake, Jasper Park) from the series Canadians and Americans (best friends forever... it's complicated). This diptych is based on the popular TV reality show The Bachelorette. The American version features Barbie with her bachelors ranging from Elvis to Donald Trump. In the Canadian version, Anne of Green Gables will be giving her well-known Canadian bachelors a Timbit.

Ce diptyque s’inspire de la célèbre émission de télé-réalité The Bachelorette. Dans la version américaine, les célibataires de Barbie vont d’Elvis à Donald Trump. Dans la version canadienne, Anne de Green Gables donnera un Timbit à ses célibataires canadiens bien connus.
