Anthony Gebrehiwot is an award-winning visual artist, photographer and community leader whose creative lens re-visions photography as an ongoing dialogue of social change between subject and society.
Gebrehiwot seeks to communicate without language in an intimate and vulnerable way: through photography, he portrays the vocabulary of race, masculinity, history, perception, and vulnerability. 'From Boys To Men' is a visceral display of Black masculinity that exposes the necessary labour of unpacking learned behaviour attached to childhood trauma.

The SPAO PHOTO WALK is an ongoing and evolving outdoor installation featuring large-scale photographic artworks. Designed as a photographic treasure hunt of sorts, visitors and tourists alike are encouraged to explore and engage with our vibrant Little Italy neighbourhood.
HOW ARE ARTWORKS SELECTED?
The artworks selected for the SPAO PHOTO WALK launch installation were selected from a nationwide open call and by an assessor jury made up of nationally recognized industry leaders.
