Alexa Mazzarello is a photographer and artist specializing in portrait, documentary, and fine art photography. Since becoming a mother in 2021, her fine art practice has focused on matrescence—the profound transformation of becoming a mother. Alexa’s work has been exhibited in Canada and the UK. She is an active member of Women Photograph and the 44.4 Mother/Artist Collective. Her notable body of work, Failure to Progress, is an intimate exploration of her birth experiences. This project was the winner of the 2025 PROJECT XO Award, a combined award through SPAO: Photographic Arts Centre and the Ottawa Art Gallery.

Alongside her artistic work, Alexa maintains an active commercial and editorial photography practice. She is a regular contributor to The Globe and Mail and Maclean’s Magazine, and has had commissioned work published in Canadian Business Magazine, SERVIETTE Magazine, GRAY Magazine, Montecristo Magazine, among many others.

Alexa lives in Ottawa, Canada with her two children, husband, and dog.

Rémi Thériault is a photographer and art director known for his engaging visual storytelling. From capturing intimate moments for personal projects or the vibrant expressions of his commercial and editorial work, his aesthetic and attention to detail are always present. Rémi is also a gallery artist having exhibited in Ottawa, Toronto, France, and the United States.

Amanda Thirkill is an Ottawa-based photographer and award-winning entrepreneur specializing in portrait, lifestyle, brand, and commercial photography. She is particularly drawn to projects that highlight people, small businesses, and meaningful stories, including her self-produced annual International Women's Day portrait series, casting a spotlight on women in Ottawa through portraits and personal words of inspiration.
