Building an Art and Photo-Based Business

This course, led by Alexa Mazzarello, explores the practical realities of building a sustainable career as a photographer and artist. Through conversations with experienced professionals, students will learn how the business side of photography supports and strengthens their creative practices. The course introduces the tools and systems needed to work professionally, from developing an online presence and communicating their work effectively, to managing the administrative responsibilities that come with an artistic career. Two guest lecturers will also speak to the class about their experiences and successes in their businesses and practices. Students will leave with a clearer understanding of how to navigate the professional landscape while building a practice that supports their own creative goals.
