HASSELBLAD CAMPAIGN

Our students need your used camera equipment.

At SPAO we are always looking for ways to make our offerings more affordable while simultaneously streamlining our operations.

When considering SPAO’s Photographic Arts and Production Diploma, access to a camera is often the first barrier that people dealing with financial hardship encounter. Financial instability disproportionately affects marginalized people and communities of colour, voices that are important in a truly diverse and inclusive artistic community.

SPAO’s college diploma program utilizes medium format film cameras as an important teaching tool, but unfortunately, this equipment is often an expensive purchase for students. In addition, SPAO staff spend considerable resources sourcing and facilitating the purchase of affordable equipment for students.

In order to alleviate both of these issues,  we are calling on the SPAO community to help us assemble loaner Hasselblad camera kits for student use! This will reduce the cost of the diploma program for students while also freeing up SPAO staff time to better focus on education and community events. Focusing on one camera type will better enable SPAO staff to source, service and replace parts as well as create efficiencies in our teaching methodology.

  • Sell: we will pay market value for your camera
