GALLERY & MARKETING ASSISTANT

Overview
The Gallery & Marketing Assistant supports the daily operations and public presence of a photographic art centre, helping to ensure exhibitions, events, and communications run smoothly and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with gallery operations, including exhibition installation, artwork handling, and maintaining a clean, welcoming space
Provide excellent visitor services, engaging guests and answering questions about exhibitions and programs
Support marketing initiatives by creating and scheduling content for social media, newsletters, and website updates
Assist in documenting exhibitions and events through photography and video
Help coordinate public programs, artist talks, and special events
Maintain contact lists, track engagement metrics, and support outreach efforts

Interest in photography, visual arts, or cultural programming
Strong communication and organizational skills
Familiarity with social media platforms and basic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva)
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
This role is ideal for someone passionate about photography and eager to gain hands-on experience in both gallery operations and arts marketing.
These positions are supported through the Canada Summer Jobs program. Eligible applicants must 30 years of age or younger and be either a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, person with refugee protection status, or otherwise legally entitled to work in Canada.

$18 per hour
Free use of the equipment and facilities when available
Free part-time classes for staff (subject to availability and schedule)
Staff team building extras i.e. events, trips etc.
