Katie Lydiatt
Biography
Katie Lydiatt (she/her) is a curator, writer, and art historian based on the unceded, unsurrendered Territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabe Nation. She holds a BA and MA in Art History from Carleton University, as well as a Curatorial Studies Diploma from the Institute of Comparative Studies in Literature, Art and Culture. Her research and curatorial interests focus on photographic art, particularly in relation to citizenship and migration. She has worked in a number of arts organizations in the city, including the Carleton University Art Gallery, the National Gallery of Canada and SAW Gallery. She has also contributed to two projects at the intersection of Canadian Arctic identity and photography, among them the Library and Archives Canada publication Atiqput: Inuit Oral History and Project Naming. Alongside her teaching, she serves as Gallery Manager and Residency Coordinator at SPAO.
