ADMINISTRATIVE & ADVANCEMENT ASSISTANT

Overview

The Administrative & Advancement Assistant plays a key role in supporting the organization’s internal operations and external relationships, helping to ensure the smooth running of the centre while contributing to fundraising, donor engagement, and organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support including scheduling, correspondence, database management, and general office coordination

  • Maintain and update donor, member, and partner records in the CRM system

  • Assist with fundraising initiatives, including grant research, application preparation, and reporting

  • Support donor stewardship activities such as acknowledgements, communications, and events

  • Coordinate logistics for board meetings, committees, and advancement-related activities

  • Help track and report on fundraising progress, campaigns, and engagement metrics

  • Assist with membership programs, renewals, and outreach efforts

    • Interest in arts administration, nonprofit work, or cultural organizations

    • Strong organizational and time-management skills with high attention to detail

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Experience with databases, spreadsheets, and office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace)

    • Familiarity with fundraising, grants, or donor relations is an asset

      This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and interested in gaining experience in arts administration and fundraising within a creative, community-focused environment.

      These positions are supported through the Canada Summer Jobs program. Eligible applicants must 30 years of age or younger and be either a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, person with refugee protection status, or otherwise legally entitled to work in Canada.

    • $18 per hour

    • Free use of the equipment and facilities when available

    • Free part-time classes for staff (subject to availability and schedule)

  • 30 hours a week for nine weeks.
