Project Development I:
Capture To Print
Image detail by SPAO part-time studies student Nicole Gonato
This class is part one of two companion Project Development classes, Capture to Print + Print to Exhibition, which focus on developing an original project from concept stage to exhibition.
In Capture to Print, participants will learn how to develop an effective and powerful project from image capture to final print. SPAO’s Director of Education Michael Tardioli will guide you through the steps from pre-visualization, sketching, set design, scouting, camera equipment, lights, and composition, to the final produced master print.
This personalized eight-week session will not only improve your technical skills, composition and visualization - it will give you the workflow to continue to develop future projects. Please note that Capture to Print is a prerequisite to Print to Exhibition.

Students must have their own film or digital SLR camera and a computer with Photoshop CS6 or later installed. 7-day trial versions of software are available to those who do not have Photoshop installed and a reasonably priced monthly photographers package can be found on the Adobe website. As this is an intermediate level course, participants’ proficiency with camera techniques, their computer, and Photoshop are expected.
