The Brown Bag Think Tank Series with SPAO

The School of Photographic Arts: Ottawa is a Non-For-Profit Charity that provides an educational hub for Ottawa's photography and photo-based visual art scene.  As SPAO evolves, entering its 11th year, there is a hunger for new ideas to improve our facilities, fundraise for equipment and reach out to the community.  To facilitate these changes SPAO introduces The Brown Bag Think Tank Series where we open the floor to the public for their ideas.  Inviting all community members, not just artists, SPAO will facilitate a series of open brainstorming sessions where the community surrounding this small school can help it grow and flourish in its second decade.  We hope you join our team, bring your lunch and help us brainstorm for the future!

SPAO seeking new Board Members!

On the verge of a second decade of exemplary education, the School of the Photographic Arts: Ottawa (SPAO) is seeking dynamic and passionate new board members to help guide the school through an important period of growth.

SPAO is an independent not-for-profit organization and a registered charity. Since opening its door in 2005, the school has become a highly regarded hub for photographic arts education in the Ottawa region and beyond. Students have won numerous awards with Applied Arts and Photolife magazines. Several students had images included in the 2012 Young Photographers Alliance exhibition, New York City.

With key developmental initiatives ongoing, SPAO seeks proactive individuals to strengthen its Board, with particular emphasis on areas including fundraising, administration, and volunteer coordination. The Board meets monthly.

The SPAO Board Selection Committee welcomes the submission of CVs for immediate consideration sent via email to admin@spao.ca. If you have questions, please call the SPAO office, 613-562-3824.
