STILL LIFE LEVEL II
JAN 31 AND FEB 7, 2015
SATURDAYS 9 AM TO 4 PM
2 SESSIONS: 12 HOURS
LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE | $255.00
Every picture tells a story.
We are profoundly influenced by objects/things. They are metaphors, little stories waiting to be told. Still life photographers create eloquent and revealing stories by manipulating objects in a created scene. This may be a simple and profound narrative with few items and a singular light source or it might be an orchestration of something much more complex and involved. The end result is an image that we will be touched by and will remember.
This two-day, Level II workshop focuses on advanced still-life photographic production: creating solid and meaningful still life images. We will explore the photographic decisions that we make that will impact an image’s ability to “tell a story.”
Designed for the photographers who have been exposed to still life shooting and would like to expand their repertoire, the workshop will consider: background creation, styling options, advanced lighting, props selection, and the creation of multiple images to shape a story.
REQUIREMENTS: DSLR camera, lenses, and tripod are required—and a laptop for those who enjoy the tethered experience. Students will supply props and backgrounds; Adrien will bring in some fun stuff to play with. If we elect to paint our own backgrounds for class 2, bring in some painting clothes.
PREREQUISITE: Still Life I or equivalent.
