Under the guidance of a mentor, students are invited to advance their skills in the art of silver gelatin printmaking. Student direction may be either project or production driven.

This course is structured as a guided working period. Mentors will facilitate your project, address concerns and evolve your print techniques to fine art printmaking. The small class size and one-on-one instruction are tailored to your needs. This unique approach allows for students of varied skill levels to comfortably learn and work together in a collaborative environment, while ensuring a maximum amount of hands-on time for producing outstanding silver gelatin prints.

REQUIREMENTS: Students must purchase their own film and photographic paper and have their own manual 35 mm or medium format or large format film camera. Darkroom chemistry is included in the tuition. Participants are expected to be proficient with their equipment and to have some darkroom experience.

PREREQUISITE : Photography II or the equivalent.
