Digital Photo: A motivational workshop
Have you ever taken a photography course and really loved what you learned then when it’s finished you can’t find the motivation to continue taking photos? Your camera lies unused in a drawer. Eventually you gradually forget many of the functions that you learned and used to create some amazing images.
This is workshop-style course in which you will re-learn camera controls and techniques and awaken the creativity that enabled you to capture those amazing images before. Interest and motivation will be rekindled as you work alongside others, sharing ideas and experiences, which in turn will inspire you to ‘get out there and make photos.
An integral element of the course is on-site photography at different locations providing a variety opportunities to hone your skills while you capture subject matter that interests you. Instruction will follow an informal hands-on approach which will address your particular needs and strengths while presenting you with challenges related to the images you prefer to capture.
Incidental instruction will include: camera operation and the essential camera controls; exposure modes; capture modes; composition and design elements; framing the scene; focal lengths; finding the best light; creating a narrative within the photograph; ISO-Exposure-Shutter relationship; visual awareness and more.
Between sessions reviews will be available on a closed photo-sharing site where all participants may post and view everyone’s achievements. The instructor will offer on-line evaluation of each student’s work and observed progress.
Four sessions of the course will be held outdoors. At the final session each participant will present a selection of photographs from the course thus providing an opportunity to share and discuss everyone’s work in relation to individual achievements.
