STUDIO LIGHTING for makers and bloggers
In the age of Instagram, Etsy, Facebook and other e-commerce solutions, makers, bloggers, and social media mavens want to get their content online right away - but don't always have a staff photographer waiting in the sidelines to take stunning photos of their work. This workshop will give you the toolkit to do it yourself at home, on a shoestring budget!
Learn how to produce pro-quality images using easily available materials (shower curtain liners, plastic tubing, etc). Cell phone cameras or regular digital cameras are in fact all that are required to produce excellent quality images for the web.
Instructor Adrien Duey will take you through using whatever lighting is available, including regular table lamps, flashlights, and the flashlight on your iPhone. Students will learn how to use cheap translucent materials to diffuse light, and cardboard and plastic tubing to build light tents or diffusion panels.
Participants are encouraged to bring in a sample (magazine clipping, digital file, photograph, etc.) of a lighting technique that they would like to emulate.
REQUIREMENTS: Any kind of camera. Participants are expected to have a working knowledge of their equipment.
