JENNIFER STEWART: "It will help set you apart"
Jennifer Stewart usually prefers to let her visual art do the talking.
She fondly recalls the small classes, the analogue photography foundations, and the auteurs class with “the one and only Khalia Scott” (the school's founding co-director). Ultimately, Jennifer feels that the most important thing she learned at SPAO was “how to bring my work meaning.”
Lately that work has expanded to include moving images: “I'm working on a bunch of different things, from a music video for a local band, to an installation for Nuit Blanche Ottawa 2014, to an upcoming small group show at Karsh-Masson Gallery.
The overall value of the SPAO experience? “I wouldn't be the person I am right now without that experience … it will help set you apart from the mass of other image-makers."
