darkroom i: FILM PHOTOGRAPHY BOOTCAMP
This course is designed to introduce individuals with a growing passion for film photography to the fundamentals that they will need to progress in the medium. The course will build a strong foundation for those intrigued by the production of quality photographic images.
Through demonstrations, lectures and hands-on experience, students will address some of the core aesthetic and technical concerns in black and white photography. The course will address camera technique, proper exposure control, film selection, and aesthetic issues, and will provide an introduction to black and white shooting concerns. Students will also step into the black and white darkroom and be introduced to the fundamentals of processing and creating expressive black and white prints from their own negatives.
REQUIREMENTS : Students must have a 35 mm SLR or medium format film camera. A quantity of film, darkroom chemistry, and paper is included in the fee for this course.
